EQTC added a function to their site a while back that allows players to look up items, and recipes for items, directly from the EQ chat window. 

To look up items from inside EQ: 

Step 1: Type the following into your chat bar: /www eqtraders.com/i?

Step 2: Then click the item in your inventory that you want to look up and hit enter.

Step 3: Your default Web browser will open up directly to the EQTC page for that item.

Notice that letter i right before the question mark? That i means item. Use this to get information directly on the item. If you want to find out what recipes actually use an item, use this command instead:

To look up recipes from inside EQ:

Step 1: Type the following into your chat bar: /www eqtraders.com/r?

Step 2: Then click the item in your inventory that you want to look up and hit enter.

Step 3: Your default Web browser will open up directly to the EQTC page that lists recipes for that item.
